Two important elements affecting the Park are part of the current Shoreline Management Program (SMP) update – those issues are:
1) Embedding the Implementation Principles into the SMP – This is important as this will ensure when the Park Dept goes to the Planning Dept for permits, the citizen engagement principles that Council approved will be respected and followed.
2) Use of a General Conditional Use Permit for the entire Park/Marina (with a Shoreline permit for portion in the 200 foot Shoreline Jurisdiction) – This is important as this will ensure citizens have the maximum allowed input into the granting of design specific permits, as the Park phases progress.
