By Neighbors, you might have noticed a large police presence at the Meydenbauer Beach Park on the afternoon of April 3, 2025. Bellevue Police Department reported that an individual with a gun was present in the park. Bellevue PD and SWAT immediately closed the park and secured all entry points, until the person of interest was finally apprehended that same evening. Bellevue PD reported that this incident was a suicide attempt, which luckily ended safely, and the person of interest was transported to Overlake Hospital.
