At MBNA’s October 16 Forum, traffic in the Meydenbauer Neighborhood was a major topic, generating a lot of citizen concern. At the Forum city’s traffic engineering manager, Mark Poch, described the expected increases in traffic on Main Street and adjacent streets with the addition of hundreds of new dwelling units in the area. Many attendees expressed dismay at the notion of closing 100th Ave. as part of the Park plan in the face of the traffic increase.
We want to share with you a letter sent by the Astoria Home Owners Association to Mr. Poch, the Mayor and the City Council. It documents the problems Astoria residents face now and their concerns for the future. MBNA will continue to express its concerns with City officials, and we believe the City needs to hear from other neighbors, taxpayers and voters as well. See the letter here.
