MBNA has received this update from Scott Vander Hyden, Project Manager for Phase 1 of the new Meydenbauer Bay Beach Park. It’s a brief recap on construction highlights from mid-August to mid-September and what to expect this fall.
Pier piling installation is complete, and the trestle structure is expected to be complete by the end of the September. Later this fall the pier’s floating sections will be brought in by barge and attached to pilings, completing the pier. In-water sewer connections are now complete and the new sewer line is fully operational.
Site grading, utilities installations, and construction of the beach house, retaining walls and viewing platforms will continue through the fall and as weather permits.
Work along Lake Washington Boulevard and 99th Avenue Northeast is expected to begin later in this fall and continue through the spring of 2018. Activities will include moving overhead power lines underground and replacing the aging waterline. A sidewalk will be built along the south side of the boulevard and along 99th Avenue Northeast from Lake Washington Boulevard to the entrance of the Marina.
Once again, thank you for your patience and cooperation during construction. Please feel free to contact Scott (425-452-4169 [email protected]) with questions or concerns.
