By Here’s a brief update from Scott Vander Hyden, Project Manager for the City of Bellevue on work underway.
- Temporary water shut-offs are scheduled on Nov. 14 and 28 to allow replacing the aging waterline along Lake Washington Boulevard. If this impacts you, you will be notified by the City.
- Other fall and winter activities will include moving overhead power lines underground and building a sidewalk along the south side of Lake Washington Blvd., which will require intermittent lane closures.
- This winter crews will move earth, install utilities, and build the beach house and viewing platforms. The construction of several large retaining walls to create walkways and landscape terraces will continue. Erosion controls measures are now in place, including protection of the slopes from the upcoming rainy season
- Later this winter, improvements will begin along 99th Avenue adjacent to the park: creating diagonal parking on the west side of 99th, building sidewalks on both sides of the street, and creating a small-boat load/unload area at the street end.
- The naturalized ravine area and day-lighted stream are nearing completion. Final landscaping will be installed next spring.
- Concrete and large rocks have been removed from the lake front with new gravel placed along the shoreline. Spawning salmon have been spotted in the area.
- Later this fall the floating sections will be barged-in and attached to the pilings, completing the pier.
