Late season cyanobacteria algae bloom in Lake Washington. Environmental investigators have found toxic algae blooms in some parts of Lake Washington. People using the lake and dog owners are advised to avoid swimming, wading, or playing in the lake when algae is present. While algae has not yet been found in Meydenbauer Bay, algae blooms can be moved around by wind and wave action.
Toxic Blue-Green algae can make humans and animals very ill, and can be fatal if ingested in large quantities. More information on toxic cyanobacteria can be found at www.nwtoxicalgae.com.
