Here’s a brief recap of construction highlights from the last four weeks and what to expect in the coming months, provided by Scott Vander Hyden, Bellevue’s Project Manager.

  • From mid-June to mid-July, grading and utility work continued, along with the start of beach house construction.
  • The two-month window for in-water work begins Monday July 17.  The barge will be in the bay through September as crews remove sewers, work on the shoreline, and construct the floating pier. Pile installation for the new pier will begin in late July and is expected to last two to three weeks.
  • Shoreline re-grading, utilities installation, and beach house construction will continue during this period.
  • Work along Lake Washington Boulevard and 99th Avenue Northeast is expected to begin in October and continue through the spring of 2018.  Activities will include undergrounding power lines, replacing the water pipeline, and constructing sidewalks along Lake Washington Blvd. and both sides of 99th Avenue along the park to the Marina.
