The city of Bellevue is assisting in the creation of a Downtown Bellevue Residents Association (DBRA) and held a well-attended initial meeting on January 16th. The Meydenbauer Bay Neighbors Association (MBNA) sent several board members to understand the plans for DBRA and to see where DBRA’s interests align with MBNA. The MBNA welcomes DBRA to help us to work and resolve mutual concerns such as traffic and development on Main Street, 100th Avenue NE and 100th Avenue SE. The MBNA is prepared and interested in assisting the development of this new association for the mutual benefit of both neighborhoods and is looking forward to working with their board.
While the MBNA represents an established residential neighborhood with a rich maritime history and a beautiful bay to protect, DBRA represents residents in retail-dense high and low rise condo and apartment neighborhoods with a complex interface with city staff interests. We believe the MBNA board can help the DBRA board understand these city staff relationships and that we can work together for the benefit of both associations. We look forward to this neighborhood association alliance.
